PARENTING CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WITH MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGES
The Parenting 101 workshops are focused on you as the parent - remembering who you are in the face of the pressures within your family - It’s a chance to breathe and think through some of the dynamics in your home when your children are struggling. These give you an understanding of yourself and some science and psychology behind family dynamics. Attending one of these workshops gives you the context needed to fully appreciate the more specific workshops that follow.
By the end of a Parenting 101 workshop you will have:
A way to think about the sometimes overwhelming emotions in your home.
An understanding of which parts of you don’t work well under stress and what you can do about it.
A few ideas on the behaviours you can model for your children – even when you feel that you got something ‘wrong’.
Some polyvagal theory – the science behind regulating yourself and your family.
If you would like to be kept informed as to when the next workshop is planned, then please send me an email – once a workshop date is confirmed, you will be informed and a £10 deposit will hold your place. There are a maximum of 12 spaces on each workshop. I’m happy to arrange a brief chat with you if you want to check if the workshop will suit your circumstances.
If you have a particular area where you would like support then please send me an email.
Those who have attended a Parenting 101 workshop will be invited to the workshops: ‘Parenting Self-harm’, 'Parenting Anxiety' and ‘Parenting behavioural challenges in school’.
